COVID-19 Updates

We are open!

COVID-19: About Us

Health & Safety

Health and Safety are of the utmost highest priority in these unprecedented times, and we are proud that Elora Day Care has NEVER had an incident of COVID-19

We have taken every precaution humanly possible to keep everyone safe. We are open and honest about every detail of the procedures that we have put in place. We know, although you might prefer to have your little one home with you, for some, it's just not an option.

Our goal is to keep our home as safe as yours for your

little one.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

Social Distancing for Kiddos

All children are socially distanced. Each child has their own designated space in the daycare to play, dance, and learn to minimize contact between children.

Toys

Toys are colour coded so each child has their own colour, so zero sharing of toys (and germs) occur. All soft toys (that can easily harbor bacteria) have been put away. The remaining hard toys are disinfected each and every day and given a deep cleaning once per month.

Cleaning

Floors, toys, door handles and everything in between are cleaned and disinfected every day. (We use the bleach solution recommended by Peel Public Health and/or disinfectant wipes.)

Monitoring & Testing

Staff's temperatures are taken first thing every morning. Children's temperatures are taken upon arrival. Children with a temperature of 37.8 or higher are not admitted to daycare. (Of course, a new disposable cap is used for each child, and the thermometer is disinfected regularly.)

Groceries & Food

All groceries (i.e. boxes, cans, etc.) are disinfected item by item once they enter the house. Fruits and vegetables are washed thoroughly.

Bedding

Blankets and pillows are specifically assigned to a child when they start EDC, and they use the same blanket and/or pillow for the duration of their time with us. There is zero sharing of blankets or pillows. Blankets are washed every Friday outside of accidents.

Other Adults

Mr. James (Mrs. Judy's husband and Mrs. Juel's father) is the designated shopper and does all the grocery shopping for the daycare to minimize the staff's travel to public places.

Access

Parents who drop off only enter the front foyer (only 1 guardian per child), and do not enter the hallway leading to the daycare or the daycare space itself. No visitors are allowed in the home - included extended relatives and family friends. This keeps everyone safe.

Sanitation

A hand sanitizer station is positioned at the front door for adults. Hand sanitizer is also in the daycare for staff and children (although hand washing thoroughly with warm soapy water is always our first choice).
